In my previous article I spoke about the Roman Catholic view of the atonement. If you haven’t read it yet,  please click here. To summarize Jesus wasn’t literally punished (Isaiah 53), smitten, or stricken on the cross, and God doesn’t ‘experience’ emotions but in particular anger, & wrath. Here is a link to the Roman Catholic article I’ve been quoting from. To clarify, I agree that God’s emotions aren’t like ours. Our emotions are tainted with sin that is why things like ‘vengeance’ belong to the Lord (Rom 12:19). Even our love is tainted with sin. Even on our best day none of us canRead More →

I fully recognize the assault on Judeo Christian values in this country, and because of our views on gender and sexuality; we are simply no longer tolerated. Today; just saying His name “Jesus” is an offense and considered ‘bigoted’. Regardless, as a professing Christian we are to submit to all governing authorities (Romans 13). But what we can’t do is deny Christ. (Acts 4:18-20). Even though the owners of Chick-Fil-A franchises employ people of all beliefs and sexual preferences; because of the owners ‘crime’ of being Christian, those in power have decided they shouldn’t be allowed to have a business in the Buffalo Airport becauseRead More →

I watched this movie “The Dirt” which is the story of the metal band Motley Crue from the 1980’s. As a kid I looked up to rock stars. I saw their fame, money, the beautiful women that would throw themselves at them and that entire lifestyle I equated to true happiness. I wanted that more than anything. But What did I really want? What do we all want? To be loved and accepted. So I figured the more people that liked me, the more I’d be loved and accepted. The more girls that wanted to be with me, the more loved and accepted I’d be.Read More →

There are those who believe salvation can be lost or forfeited. Many believe they chose Christ, and because of that they received the gift of faith. God Says: I chose you. Man says: No. I chose you. It wouldn’t be fair or just unless this was so God. God says: Those who believe, believe according to My will and good pleasure. Man says: I believe because you looked down the corridors of time, saw that I would choose you, then based your election off of my will not yours. I’m in control God. Not you. God says: There is no savior besides me Man says:Read More →

It is with the utmost love, and respect that I write these blog posts that are in opposition to Roman Catholic teachings. It is my desire for my Roman Catholic friends and family to come to know the truth that their Churches teachings are not in alignment with scripture. I hope to demonstrate today that the Roman Catholic Mass contradicts scripture as it adds to the finished work of Christ the will of man, sacrifices and offerings of Mary, & the dead saints. The RC Mass only offers a partial forgiveness of some sins which is a direct contradiction of Hebrews 10. I pray theRead More →

Frederick the Pious at the Diet of Augsburg in reference to the Heidelberg Catechism “Your Imperial Majesty, I continue in the conviction which I made known to you before I came here in person, that in matters of faith and conscience I acknowledge only one Lord who is Lord of all lords, and King of all kings. That is why I say that this is not a matter of the flesh, but of man’s soul and its salvation which I have received from my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His truth I am duty bound to guard. As regards Calvinism, I can say with GodRead More →

In my last blog post I talked about Pope Francis telling a little boy to pray to his dad who died an unbeliever. He told the crowd that the atheists work of baptizing his children surely pleased God because it’s more difficult for an non-believer to baptize his children then it is for a believer. He declared the man ‘had a good heart’ (speaking about the subject of heaven). He declared we are all children of God even if we’re not baptized. He declared God, having the heart of a father, would not leave his children far from Him when they are good. He askedRead More →

I was having a discussion with someone telling them how Jesus forgives all our sins, not just some, or only up until a certain point in our life, and once we are baptized by the Holy Spirit salvation cannot be lost. This objection was raised: “Yea, but what if a believer commits a murder?” This is good objection and one that is raised not just by non-believers but by believers as well. After all how could a professing Christian who murdered another human being in cold blood possibly be forgiven? Even if He/She went through their entire life devoted to Christ. When we look atRead More →

I’m unsure who the author of this article is but a friend of mine posted this and I had to share it. I am my greatest relational problem—me. And your biggest problem is you. Now, don’t misunderstand me. I know you’ll be sinned against; I know people suffer abuse of all kinds; but my greatest and deepest difficulty in relationships actually exists inside of me and not outside of me. That’s why Paul offered the cure when he said Jesus came to rescue you from you. Grace alone changes the whole relational paradigm, our whole lifestyle of inward-bentness. Grace liberates you from you, so you canRead More →

Continuing with our believe theme from Part 2 We’re taking a walk through the entire book of John from beginning to end focused on Salvation. Amount of times the word ‘believe’ is used in John 17-21: 8 Total amount of times – ‘Believe’ is found: 89 John 17 John 17:2 2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to [a]all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I glorified You on the earth, [b]having accomplished the workRead More →
